The Vectrix electric scooter isn’t going to break any land speed records, but with a top speed of 62 miles per hour and the ability to reach 50 mph in less than seven seconds, it gives other scooters a run for their money, literally—it costs one penny per mile to run. 

Using a completely electric motor means that the scooter has zero emissions. It has a max range of 65 miles at 25 mph and can be charged by plugging into any standard 110- or- 220-volt outlet. 

It has enough power to carry a passenger, although adding extra weight and traveling at high speeds lessen the range—20 miles when traveling at 60 mph. The battery has an anticipated life expectancy of 50,000 miles. The manufacturer says less maintenance is required for their electric scooter than for traditional scooters, although it does need periodic software updates because it has complicated electronics.
