The original Insight was Honda’s first American gas-electric hybrid vehicle, introduced in the U.S. in 1999. It was the first car to be more fuel efficient than 70 mpg. The new Insight, built as a hybrid from the start, has an aerodynamic design that the company expects will make its fuel efficiency evident.
The car is a small, five-door coupe with folding back seat, and will debut on October 2 at the Paris Motor Show.
