Used wine corks can be ground up and reconditioned into flooring, insulation, craft materials and soil conditioner. Through its ReCORK program, Amorim of Portugal, the world’s largest
producer of cork wine stoppers, has collected more than 6 million used corks from wineries, restaurants and individuals for use in footwear made by marketing partner SOLE. Some northern California Whole Foods stores collect corks for ReCORK recycling.

If you have corks to donate, look for a public collection point in your area or find out how to send them to ReCORK.
