One of the easiest and most filling snacks is fiber- and protein-packed granola. If making your own all-natural granola takes too much time for you, feel good about grabbing a bag of farmer’s market-fresh Hippie Chow All Natural Granola.

Hippie Chow’s origins are humble. Hippie Chow owner Valerie Jennings began selling her homemade granola at her local farmer’s market in Overland Park, Kansas, in May 2010. Jennings hand-makes Hippie Chow in small batches every week to keep the all-natural granola as fresh as possible. With a commitment to sourcing ingredients locally, Hippie Chow is a member of the “Simply Kansas” program, sponsored by the Kansas Department of Commerce, which certifies that at least 75 percent of Hippie Chow’s ingredients or production comes from local sources.

Hippie Chow’s popularity spread rapidly over the course of a few months and now, three flavors, Original Mix, Peanut Butter and Chocolate, are available nationwide at gourmet marketplace Dean & Deluca and on Hippie Chow’s website. Hippie Chow costs $6 for a 10-ounce bag.

Hippie Chow Original Mix boasts five grams of fiber and seven grams of protein per half-cup serving. Anchored by oats, cranberries, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds and pecans, and laced with honey, brown sugar, vanilla and spices, the original blend offers sweet, tart, crunchy goodness to the granola purist.

The two newest flavors, Chocolate and Peanut Butter, recently debuted to coincide with Hippie Chow’s fresh partnership with Dean & Deluca. Hippie Chow Peanut Butter blends smooth and creamy tastes with crunchy banana chips and walnuts. Hippie Chow Peanut Butter has four grams of fiber and six grams of protein per serving. Hippie Chow Chocolate has the shortest ingredients list for a simple, sweet and crunchy granola mix: oats, honey, canola oil, cocoa powder, brown sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Hippie Chow Chocolate also has four grams of fiber and six grams of protein per serving.
